Sam drove up to Freddie's apartment in tears, it had been one week... One week since Carly left, one week sine that phone call at the mall when Freddie accidentally admitted wanting to get back together with Sam... One week of Sam emailing Carly, pouring her heart out about still being insanely in love with Freddie. 

It had been only an hour... Since Carly told Sam guiltily how she had kissed Freddie before she left for Europe. Sam stared at her red laptop with tears in her eyes. Re-reading the email over and over. No... Not the same day, Freddie couldn't have possible done that to her in the same day... He was better then that. Maybe a few years ago when he was young and didn't have a clue about girls... But now? They'd been through so much. This wasn't, it simply was not possible. It broke Sam's heart.

Freddie told Sam that he loved her, she never told Carly that he said it. But he did. Sam had to know if he still did, if he really did want to get back together... She needed to know. Now. She hopped on her motorcycle and rode, thinking of Freddie. Of everything they'd been through. Since when he first figured her out... She always liked him, since that talent show where he recorded them talking about Mrs.Briggs. But, with Sam being who she is, she wouldn't ever let anyone know. She remembered when Freddie had said to her "You know, when a girl rips on a guy, it means she has a crush in him!" she quickly responded "I wasn't ripping on a guy, I was ripping on you." and later that night, she cursed herself for getting caught. That just wasn't the Sam Puckett style.

When she kissed him for the very first time, a million times before dreaming of him being her first kiss... Never did she think it would happen. That night was the best night of her life. Well, second to the night Freddie said he loved her. How she asked him for help, for the very first time when Sam was worried Carly was being stolen from her. She remembered Freddie's response. "How do i know your not lying?" "Because i came to you..." She remembered ow she admitted to him she liked him at the school, locked herself in an insane asylum, that stupid iCarly webisode where he admitted to the WORLD he liked her back at the asylum. When they tried each others hobbies, down to their break up... Because she wanted to be his friend. She wanted to know that if it ever came down to it, she could still be his friend... But it didn't fix anything. She loved Freddie. Which led her here. If he told her that it just couldn't and wouldn't happen again, then she needed to know... She just had to know.

She walked up the stairs and to Freddie's door, and knocked. He answered a minute later with his Freddie smile... The one he used to make at Carly all those years ago. Sam couldn't hardly believe that little boy she had a crush on... Grew into this, man that she loved. "Hey Sam what u- Sam, are you crying?" "I need you to go to the iCarly studio... Now." "Sam, it's not the-" "Please Freddie... Please?" Freddie could see tears streaming down her face and his heart hurt. "Okay."

Sam picked the Shay's apartment lock for what seemed like, the millionth time ever. And more then likely, it was. A quick memory flashed her mind of how she won the ultimate assassin by swinging in the door way. Freddie was the first to get out, by Sam's hand. She wanted to be the one to get him. Spencer wasn't home. He never was home much anymore... After Carly went to Italy, Spencer and T-Bo started to hang out more, and he got a job at the Groovy Smoothie. Sam and Freddie looked around the apartment, memories filling their brains. Throwing cupcakes at the door, their millions of conversations in the kitchen, nevel's Karma party. Everything... The spot where Freddie told Sam he loved her. 

When they finally got back to the old studio, Sam ran and got the old beam bags and placed them on the exact spots they were... When Freddie figured her out. Sam insisted Freddie sit in the spot he did then, so he did. Once they were seated Freddie looked at her concerned. "Sam... What is this all about? Why are you so upset?" "I'm upset because this is where it happened... When you did the one thing that changed my life, that... That if you just kept your mouth shut maybe, maybe I wouldn't hurt so badly... This was the spot when you figured out the reason I was such a wazz bag to you was because I loved you!" "Sam.." "Why?! Why did you kiss Carly?! You... You said you wanted to get back together just hours before that! You made me the happiest girl in the world! Why... After telling me you lived me... after all our years together, doing iCarly, building this... Whatever it is between us... You, you kissed he-" and she broke into sobs into her hands.

Freddie felt horrible. He slowly got off his beam bag and sat in front of the sobbing Sam. He held her closely and stroked her hair as she sobbed. She let him do this a minute before pushing him away. "NO! Stop! Stop doing things that m-make me love you... Please... Please stop..." Freddie lifted her face up to meet his, locking eyes with her. "A Little boy, a few years ago... Wasn't so good with girls. He's still isn't. That little boy thought he was in love with Carly Shay and vowed to kiss her someday. For a reason that wasn't because he saved her life... Then he grew up and found real love in a girl... That he didn't notice before, because he was to busy obsessing over a Ruby... He didn't see a priceless diamond hidden under some gravel. Sam, you're the diamond... Carly kissed me first, I kissed her back because I wanted to keep that promise to that little boy. But, thats all that it was... Sam Puckett, I love you... I've been in love with you for a long time now."

"Freddie... I need to know now, before my heart breaks permanently. Do you..." "Wanna get back together? Forever? Yes. You belong with me. And Carly can't change that." "Freddie... I love you." "I love you, too." Sam smiles before saying "...you know, I was thinking, maybe..." "We should kiss?" Freddie finished smiling remembering their first kiss. "Just to get it out if the way." and with that, they leaned towards one another and kissed. Really, really kissed. One only true lovers could share. They pulled away and looked around. "I wish Carly were here..." Sam said sadly. "I wish you'd marry me..." Sam's eyes opened wide, it takes Freddie a moment to realize what he said and sputters, "w-w-well I meant I meant I don't know I just I don't know wh-what I meant-" "In the future? ...I don't see why not." "So... Are we-?" "Engaged? Not yet... Mama actually wants to go to college and get a degree first... But, promised? Seems fine by me." "Sounds fair." they smiled at each other then hugged tightly. "I can't wait to spend my future with you." It all happened up here, when he figured her out. But that's the thing about a good story, it has a happy ending. But the secret of happy endings, happy ending bring new beginnings.
